Living in Zwhatt

The Zwhatt neighbourhood is based on a comprehensive sustainable mobility concept. All car parks offer charging stations, which are mainly powered by solar energy. Car-free households will receive rental credits for a mobility station with e-cars, e-scooters, e-bikes and e-cargo bikes – the amount received depends on the size of the flat.

Being located right next to Regensdorf-Watt train station guarantees excellent public transport connections by S-Bahn and bus. By 2035, there will be S-Bahn services every 15 minutes. Car-free households receive as well annual grants for public transport of between CHF 200 and 350, depending on the size of the flat. For cyclists, there are connections to regional cycle routes, a free bike workshop in the Cornershop and free charging facilities for e-bikes.

Living in Zwhatt also means living locally. Thanks to multi-use rooms and outdoor spaces. Thanks to shopping facilities and restaurants. Thanks to pharmacies, doctors’ and dentists’ surgeries. Thanks to crèches, nurseries, kindergartens and schools. Thanks to the central Zwhatt-Platz, the spacious Zwhatt-Wiese and the large fountain. And not least thanks to perfect public transport connections and recreational areas that are really close by.

The new urban neighbourhood is located in the middle of a large, lively community with attractive shopping facilities, businesses and plenty of local clubs. In short: Regensdorf offers all of the perks of city life in a homely village setting. Within the municipality of Regensdorf, there are over 10 kindergartens, six primary schools, Regensdorf secondary school and a regional music school. In the second quarter of 2025, the municipality is expected to open a new double kindergarten in the Loggia development on the Zwhatt site. You can find numerous local recreation areas close to the site. From here, it’s just a stone’s throw to Katzensee lake. It is also not far to the forest for walking, hiking, jogging or cycling. And it’s only two S-Bahn stops to the Otelfingen Golf Park. Zurich main station can be reached in 17 minutes by S-Bahn.

The new urban neighbourhood is a model of sustainable design: the Zwhatt energy centre is located beneath the Cornershop and uses groundwater as its main source of energy – for heating in winter and cooling the flats and commercial premises in summer. Photovoltaic systems on roofs and façades produce solar energy for use on-site, powering homes, businesses, heat pumps and charging stations. Any additional energy required comes exclusively from sustainable sources. Resource conservation was a key focus even during the construction stage: with recycled concrete, a minimal basement, circular planning for commercial buildings and a wood-hybrid high-rise made of Swiss timber.
